Easton-in-Gordano Parish Plan

Meeting 15th January 2007

Meeting 5th March 2007

The Parish Plan for Easton-in-Gordano has been completed and published. It contains the views of residents of the Parish, the results of extensive consultations including a detailed questionnaire distributed to all households in March 2006. 1,311 questionnaires were completed, representing a 60% response. The project was supported and funded by the Countryside Agency and the Parish Council.
Those who responded to the questionnaire generally appeared content to live in the Parish and with the level of services and facilities available. Issues relating to transport, traffic and roads generated the greatest interest with support for maintenance of the Green Belt and improvement of leisure facilities. There was also concern about perceived levels of crime, vandalism and anti-social behaviour.
The Plan envisages the preservation of the Pariah's rural environment, improvement in safety on the roads throughout the Parish, better leisure facilities, better transport services, maintenance of existing services and more consideration for the elderly and the disabled.
The Plan has been presented to the Parish Council with proposals to set up a Community Forum to progress the various action points included in the Plan. It is being widely distributed to organisations with interests in the Parish and copies are available from Pill library, Pill Resource Centre and other outlets around the Parish.
