1. |
Chestnut Trees: Cllr Duck had received advice that it might be wise to remove the remaining two trees. He would consult North Somerset Council (NSC) about this and their replacement. He would also look into whether there was good timber which could be sold. Action GD |

2. |
Football fixtures: Mr Norval said that the Senior and Junior Football Clubs would be submitting lists of fixtures and payment of fees to the Clerk. Action JN |

2. |
Litter Bins: Simon Banbury of NSC had indicated that he could probably supply up to 5 bins free of charge. It was decided to pursue this offer. The additional two bins could be situated in Victoria Park and in the precinct. It was noted that the Village Orderly had some difficulty with emptying the blue bins. Action PSS |
3. |
Water Lane footpath: It was noted that NSC may close the path for 12 weeks during remedial work. They would be encouraged to include school holidays in this period. NSC were unlikely now to require a financial contribution from the Parish Council. Action GD/K. Brooks |
4. |
National Spring Clean Campaign: A letter had been received from NSC about this year’s campaign. It was agreed to write to the Youth Club and St Katherines School to ask them if they would consider organising volunteers. Action PSS |
5. |
Bus Bays: It was agreed that NSC should be asked to reduce the length of the bus bays at the precinct. It was also agreed that the police should be discouraged, for the time being, from issuing fixed penalty fines for motorists parking in the bays. Action PSS |

2. |
Street Lighting: The findings from the ‘walk round’ on 16 February had been circulated. It was agreed to obtain quotes for all items listed and, if necessary, priorities could be set at a later date. Action PSS |

Joint meeting with Portbury PC and Colin Jones: It had been proposed that this should be on 23 or 24 March at 7.30pm. Cllrs Duck and Robinson preferred the latter, Cllr Whiting would be consulted. Points for discussion were likely to be Colin Jones’ prediction of subjects and inputs dated 26 February and David Stephens’ observations following the Shipway enquiry. |
5. |
New Planning System: A consultation draft from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister had been received from Colin Jones. This is open for comment until 21 May. Rather than individual Councils each responding, it was suggested that ALCA be asked whether they propose responding on behalf of those they represent. Action PSS |
