EASTON IN GORDANO PARISH COUNCIL
Present: Cllrs Duck, Hunt, Ridley, Stowers, Mr J. Norval (Junior Football Club), Mr P. Strother Smith (Clerk).
Apologies: Cllr Waters.
1. Sports Pavilion: Cllr Stowers would consult Jane Hunt about providing a basic supply of toilet rolls. Action BS. Mr Norval reported that the Junior Football Club had painted the changing rooms. The heaters are working. Cllr Baker is supposed to be looking into getting lockable brackets for the goal posts. Action SB. A drain pipe has become loose. Action BS/JN. Cllr Stowers would have more keys cut. Action BS.
2. Pitches: It was reported that the pitch markings are not very clear. A letter has been sent to Redrow about the state of the new pitches. The Clerk has written, as requested, to the Chief Executive of North Somerset Council (NSC) about this and others issues in the area.

1. Skip: One or two villagers had asked for the return of a skip for public use. It was agreed not to reinstate this facility, which had been withdrawn due to cost and unauthorised use by traders. A note would be put in the Pill Paper reminding people of Civic Amenity sites and that the Council will collect bulk items. Action GH
2. Play Area: Cllr Jones reported shortcomings highlighted in the annual inspection report. The Clerk would send a copy of the report to Wickstead and ask them to deal with the problems. Action PSS. It was considered that there should be facilities for the disabled and this would be discussed during budget setting for next year.
3. Footpaths: NSC had still done nothing to improve the path between Westward Drive and Water Lane. The Clerk would contact the Footpaths Officer. Action PSS
The Clerk would try to obtain copies of footpath and bridle way maps for Councillors. Action PSS
4. Trees: The Clerk was asked to write to NSC asking them to prune trees in Victoria Park and around Hardwick Road playing fields.
A note would be submitted to the Pill Paper reminding homeowners to deal with overhanging vegetation on to public areas. Action GH
5. GP Surgery: The temporary railings by the surgery had been tipped on to the road during the weekend. The Clerk was asked to write to NSC and the surgery asking them to expedite the completion of the pavement and removal of the railings. Action PSS

1. Parish Plans: Cllr Hunt reported that a leaflet had been distributed with the Pill Paper regarding the public meeting on 22 October. This had incurred small costs from Cllr Jones, Bert Sexton and, possibly, the Resource Centre. Lindsey Newman of Community Action and Tony Horry of Kewstoke Parish Council had been invited to attend the meeting.
2. Christmas Lights: It was agreed that the Council would again pay for the cost of these.
3. St John’s Ambulance Cadets: An approach had been received for funds. It was agreed that we that them for a set of accounts, details of funding and expenses and a specific request, which would be considered in the budget for next year.
4. Remembrance Sunday: The Clerk reported that he had ordered 2 wreaths which would be delivered to the Resource Centre. Cllr Duck would collect them for laying on Remembrance Sunday.
5. Website: Cllr Pritchard had reported by e-mail that the website had been updated and now included the two co-opted Councillors, minutes, Pill Paper reports and a hyperlink to the Pill Community website. The logo was still outstanding.

5. Proposed Orange Base Station
A pre-application consultation letter had been received from Alder King for a base station at Gordano Services or Court House Farm. Agreed that we would communicate our preference for the former, which is also Orange’s preferred option. Action PSS
6. Transport Local Plan – 3rd Annual Progress Report
Cllr Robinson would read this report and draft any comments for consideration. Action VR
7. Tree Preservation Orders
An e-mail had been received from NSC which invited us to contribute to a review of TPOs in the Parish. It was agreed that Brian Heaton should be consulted on this. Action VR
